Investigación y Estudios sobre Utilización de Aloe en Cobertura de Frutas y Hortalizas

Existen un sinnúmero de estudios e investigaciones relacionados con la utilización del aloe como cobertura y protección de frutas y hortalizas, y los innumerables beneficios que traen en su aplicación. Usualmente se destaca como principal beneficio la extensión de vida del producto tratado, lo que permite una mayor vida del producto en los anaqueles y puntos de venta. Sin embargo, el uso del aloe en frutas y hortalizas frescas provee otros beneficios, ya que además de proveer una función de anti envejecimiento, crea un biofilm que reduce la tasa de transpiración del fruto, otorga firmeza al producto tratado y ofrece funciones bactericidas y antifúngicas, sin hablar que en algunos casos específicos, ayuda a combatir enfermedades en las frutas y hortalizas tratadas.
